Processing Fees

*DO NOT SEND ANY FIBER WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL!  

*All fiber is to be skirted prior to shipment to us. Fiber that is not skirted properly will be charged $20.00 per fleece. If you are unsure of how to skirt your fleece please see our “Fiber to Yarn ” page for instructions.

*Fiber length: All fiber is to be a minimum of 2” and a maximum of no more than 6” to process properly. Fiber that is under the minimum should not be sent for processing; fiber which exceeds the maximum needs to be cut in half. We charged $20.00 extra for cutting of fiber. We prefer not to!

*We reserve to right to refuse any fiber that is not satisfactory to our standards for processing through our equipment based on the above instructions and the following instruction in the FAQ’s page. Should you any further preparation questions please follow the guidelines set forth by the Alpaca Fiber Coop as there the same standards we use. 

*Yarn will be processed, steam set, and wound onto a cone unless skeining or ball winding options have been value added.

*Roving will be processed into a center pull bump. Roving is carded into proper spinning roving. This roving is madde for hand spinning or hand felting projects.
